Praying Psalm 23 For Rest And Comfort

Most families in today’s world are facing all kinds of challenges that end up in worry and anxiety. Circumstances surrounding us do not make things look better. What then do we do other than go into the scriptures and get ourselves comforted.

Let’s take a look at the following words by David in the Bible (NASV) –

Psalm 42 : 5, 11

Verse 5 : Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.

Verse 11 : Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.

                                                PRAYERS

  1. O LORD God our Shepherd, you are our Father who guides and shields us always. We pray that through your covering, we shall not lack.
  2. As you make us lie down in fresh and tender green pastures, leading us through the still and restful waters, our souls get refreshed and restored. Amen.
  3. Father God, we thank you for leading us in the path of righteousness, all for the sake of your name! May we continue to  be in uprightness and right standing with you in Jesus name.
  4. O LORD, our deliverer, many times we walk through the deep valley of the shadow of death with storms, disasters, calamities staring at us but by your grace, mercy and protection, we shall not fear. Behold, you are with us always. (Isaiah 41 : 10-13; Hebrews 13 : 6). May we remain steadfast till the end in Jesus name.
  5. Glory be to God for comforting us through His rod that protects us and His staff of authority that guides us. Amen.
  6. Because you are a faithful and merciful God, you already prepared a table of victory for us in the very presence of our enemies, with our head soaked with the oil of anointing and power. Nothing the enemy can do to harm us. Amen
  7. O God, as we look up to you always, surely goodness, mercy and favor shall follow us all the days of our lives and your house shall be our dwelling place forever and ever, Amen.
